Wedding Wednesday: 7 Months!

Today marks 7 months left, until I marry the man of my dreams! It's both exciting and scary all at the same time. Exciting, because I CANNOT wait to call KC my husband! And scary, because there is so much to do and time seems to be flying by. However, I did finish our save the dates this past week (just waiting on one last finishing touch that should arrive by the end of this week)! They are DIY style and I absolutely loved making them! Here's a sneak peak at our save the dates:
I just need to finish addressing envelopes and go buy some stamps. Once they've all been mailed and received, I'll post about the process I did to make them and the finished product! I'm so, so, so happy with how they turned out!

Currently...

I saw this over at Eat, Drink & Be Mary (one of my faves!) and loved the idea, so I'm going to do a post about currently I'm...

Drinking: Maxwell House Iced Coffee. I found this gem at the 99 Cent Store and it's amazing! Just add one squirt to a glass of milk, stir, and enjoy.
Wearing: Softies and a tank top. Working from home has it's perks; I mean, what's the point of getting dressed if you don't have to go anywhere. Am I right?!

Refusing To: Give up on exercising. We've been so busy lately, but I refuse to stop making time to at least fit in 20-30 minutes of something!

Wanting: A nice, long vacation. Somewhere not to hot, but not to cold. A place KC and I can just relax and not stress about our jobs, the wedding, or anything. That would be perfect.

Feeling: Happy that engagement pictures are done and looking great! Another thing checked off the list (which always feels good). How about another sneak peek?!
Eating: Lots of fruits and veggies. We're trying to eat healthier. Exercise alone won't get me to where I want to be...

Listening To: Wedding songs. Lots and lots of wedding songs! I still need to find the perfect father/daughter song. No luck yet, but I'm determined.

Loving: My new Rainbow & Rainmate! This cleaning machine is amazing. My house has never been so clean and I'm just waiting for the weekend to roll around so I can test out some more features.
Excited About: The Book of Mormon show coming up later this month!

Thankful For: KC. He's so helpful and supportive. I love when I'm having a bad day, he jumps right in and makes dinner and let's me relax. Best Fiance Ever!

Wishing: I could win the lottery. Like, who doesn't!?

Admiring: Everyone's wedding pictures. I CANNOT wait for my big day!

Saying Goodbye To: Taco Bell. I need to eat better so Taco Bell has got to go. It'll be hard and I might slip once or twice, but I definitely need to cut back.

What have you been up to currently?

Wedding Wednesday: Sneak Peek

This past weekend my best friend and matron of honor, Katie (& her wonderful husband, Travis), flew in to take our engagement pictures for us! They arrived Saturday morning and after a quick stop by our house, we were off to our first location.

Red Rock Canyon is beautiful! And I knew it would make for great backgrounds. Unfortunately, I didn't account for how bright the sun would be that early in the morning. I have extremely sensitive eyes (cons of having blue eyes I guess) so I had to wear my sunglasses in most of the pictures we took there. I tried to do without, but my eyes would either be completely closed or so watery that I might as well be crying. We ended up getting a lot of good shots though! Here's a sneak peek from the Red Rock Canyon shoot:
Sixty-eight pictures later, we decided to stop for lunch. Then we went back to our house to relax, just long enough for the sun to begin setting. I had one more location I wanted to go to, but after the trouble with the sun at Red Rock, I decided to wait until later in the evening to head out again.

We went to Sunset Park because there's a lake in the middle of the ginormous park which makes for another great background. We got a little silly here and ended up with some great pictures that weren't posed or planned. We also got a little adventurous with the poses and learned that some things you see on Pinterest just aren't meant to be reenacted. Here's a sneak peek from this shoot:
All in all, it was a fantastic day and we had an absolute blast! I am so, so, so thankful for Katie. Not just anyone would jump on a plane and fly across the country for two days just to take someone's engagement pictures. I am truly blessed to call her my best friend and have her as my matron of honor. Now we both get to start editing these beauties! Once we get them done, I'll share tons more!

And just because I love you all, here's one of my favorites (unedited)!

Coyote Countryfest

Last weekend, KC got us tickets to attend Coyote Countryfest 2015 at The Orleans Hotel & Casino. It had been awhile since I'd been to a concert type event, so I was excited!
The countryfest started with an opening act from Striking Matches. I'd never heard of them before, but they were really good. Next was Mo Pitney, a young kid from Illinois. I didn't know him either, but we enjoyed his set. I soon discovered that he's the one that sings the song "Country". I had no idea it was him and I LOVE that song!

Following Mo Pitney was Rodney Atkins. I'm horrible with knowing who sings what songs (because the radio never seems to tell you), but I knew most of the songs he sang. I would have to say that he was the best act of the night and definitely stole the whole show. Big & Rich closed the show and to say the least; it was awful. I felt really bad for them because it was all because of the sound. They had the backup music/instruments way too loud so all we could hear was feedback. I couldn't make out many words they were singing and it literally hurt my ears. The arena really cleared out after a couple of songs when we realized they weren't going to do anything about it. We ended up leaving a little early as well and it took a good half an hour for my ears to stop ringing and hear normally again.
Overall, it was a really fun night and I was so happy we went. I love going out and attending events with KC. The above pictures say Clare Dunn (who I don't know) was supposed to be there too, but I don't remember anyone other than the four I mentioned. Not sure if we missed it or if maybe she came after Big & Rich. Anyway, our next big event is The Book of Mormon at the end of this month. I'm so beyond excited for that show!

What kind of events do you like to attend?

Wedding Wednesday: Bridal Spectacular

A couple weekends ago, we went to a bridal expo, Bridal Spectacular. I'd been told how helpful and fun they can be, so when I saw there was one coming to town, I got tickets! Grooms got in for free, so that was an added bonus.
I can't lie, it was VERY overwhelming at times. There was so much to look at, so much information being shared and handed to you, and lots of people to socialize with. We got information on literally everything; attire, venues (even though we're going out of state), catering, decor, jewelry, honeymoon locations, fitness plans, favors, etc. You name it, they had it.
Our favorite part was all the different photo booths. We were able to play a little dress up and take free pictures. We also got the cutest bride-to-be and groom stickers to wear so everyone knew we were one of the happy couples.
I received a lot of cute tote bags, magazines, and samples. The cake (and other food) samples were the best!
We ended up spending 3 hours there! And the best part...KC didn't complain once! I was worried he would get super bored, but they did a really great job incorporating things the grooms would like. Between the free food, photo booths, and tux booths, he was a happy camper. We got so many great decorating ideas as well. I would totally recommend anyone getting married to check out a bridal expo in their area.
