Wedding Wednesday: Getting Ready

If you missed last week; see all our decor here.

Originally, our photographer wasn't going to be with us when we were getting ready, but last minute she came in and took a few shots for us. My sister-in-law helped me do my hair and my Matron of Honor helped me into my dress. I was starting to get super excited/nervous at this point. I definitely shed some happy tears while getting ready. It all became so real as soon as I put on my veil. I really felt and looked like a bride at that moment.

Next week: Our First Look!

What's Been Cooking: Pepper Nachos

I've been trying to eat a lot more healthy lately, so I've been looking on Pinterest for recipes that KC will enjoy as well. Recently, I came across Mini Pepper Chicken Nachos, and OMG! they're amazingly delicious!
I precooked a bunch of chicken in the crockpot, so I didn't have to worry about cooking the chicken the night I made this dish. Cutting up all the veggies took the most time, but it's totally worth it AND you could definitely chop them all up beforehand.

They smelled so good while they were in the oven. It filled the entire house and made us more hungry than we already were. I couldn't wait to dig in!
The best part about this dish is that I didn't feel guilty when eating it. All the veggies were so perfect. The leftovers were just as amazing! I'll definitely be making this dish again.

Wedding Wednesday: The Decor

Let's start the recap out with our wedding decorations. They were simple, but perfect and I loved how everything came together. The barn was a dream. We didn't have to do much to it to make it look beautiful. My dad made our arbor and my mom made all the pallet signs. I'm so in love with how it all turned out.

Prepare for picture overload!

Next week, I'll cover the girls getting ready!

Memorial Day Weekend

This is a little late, but better late than never! KC had to work the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, but as soon as he got home, we headed to Laughlin, Nevada to spend the night and Memorial Day by the Colorado River. Laughlin is our favorite weekend getaway since it's only about an hour and a half from home. This would also be our first trip as husband and wife!

We had so much fun and even took a river boat cruise before we headed home Monday afternoon. The weather was perfect and not too hot, which is always a plus.

It's Been A While...

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted. I swear I'm alive! Married life has really gotten busy; with getting my name changed, KC switching jobs, and just life in general, time has really gotten the best of me. I have lots of posts planned, let's just hope I get the time to type them up.

For now, let me catch y'all up on things:

  1. KC got a new job. He's still working in a warehouse but the environment (and perks) are SO much better than where he was! I love that he's happier AND gets to bring home Ocean Spray products. He loves that the warehouse is air conditioned.
  2. I'm officially a Hawthorne! I went to the Social Security office 3 weeks ago and the DMV 2 weeks ago. It was a surprisingly fast and easy process (I'll post about that later). I'm still trying to get used to the whole "I'm married" thing; it's just so weird calling KC my husband.
  3. It's HOT. And not just the normal 100 degree, Las Vegas summer hot. But mega hot! We've been breaking records this past week. Today's temp is supposed to get to 110! Our a/c is working overtime and I'm just ready for fall already.
  4. We got our wedding pictures back on Monday!! They turned out SO good. I can't wait to start posting/sharing them with y'all. You're going to LOVE them!
  5. I started the 21 Day Fix on Monday and so far I'm loving it! With KC's new work schedule, we get up at 5am and I've been staying up (instead of going back to bed like I would usually do) and getting a morning workout in and actually eating a good breakfast. I'm so excited about learning what a real portion size is and just being more healthy overall.

I'm sure there are so many more things to tell you, but this is all I got right now. I hope to get back into posting at least once a week again. I miss reading y'all's posts too. I did order a daily planner (that should be delivered today!!), so hopefully that will help me get more organized. :)
