Oh Hey, Friday | Updates

It's been awhile since I've done a Friday Five post! Things had been insanely crazy lately; between end-of-year shenanigans at work, getting ready for tax season to begin, and approaching the 3-month mark til our wedding (tomorrow!) --- I'm about to lose my mind!

Here's five things that have been going on around here lately:

ONE | Things are coming together for the wedding! I've been ordering all the last minute things online and having them shipped directly to my mom's house. She tells me it's like Christmas at her house LOL We mailed out invitations last week; I'll have post about that later!

TWO | We finished our dance classes last week. We signed up a few months ago to learn a nice routine for our first dance. It's been a lot of fun! We just have one more in April as a refresher for the wedding.

THREE | I discovered the Ibotta app! Well, actually my Maid of Honor did and she shared it with me. So glad she did! I've saved so much money already and I've only had it for about two weeks. You get cash back for buying certain items. It's fast, easy and really works! If you're interested, use my referral code (xdvbcbc) when you sign up; you'll get $10 after you redeem your first rebate!

FOUR | I had to get a new phone. We woke up the other day (late -- so thank goodness it was on the weekend) to my phone being off. I restarted it and it just kept freezing or turning off, so we went straight to the phone store and I got a new one. I ordered a case for it online and I CANNOT wait for it to get here.

FIVE | We tried turkey burgers for the first time this week. I was impressed! KC cooked them on his George Foreman grill and added a couple spices. I will definitely be buying them again. I'm excited to find more healthy options we can try.

Product Review: Slim Fast

A few weeks ago, I received the Slim Fast voxbox from Influenster and I'm so glad I did! Such a great way to start the year. The Slim Fast plan is to replace two meals a day with shakes or bars, eat one 500-calorie meal and have three 100-calorie snacks throughout the day.

I was provided a replacement shake, a replacement bar, and two snacks. I was surprised with how good the bar and snacks were. Normally, healthy options taste 'healthy'. Not these! I was excited that good tasting snacks were on this plan. The shake wasn't as good as I'd hoped, but I think if I drank it everyday, it'd grow on me.

I found another replacement bar and snack bar at the dollar store, so I picked up a few boxes to try. AMAZING! The snack bar tastes exactly like a Butterfinger. I'm also impressed with how well these snacks and replacement bars really hold you over until dinner.

I still need to work on the 500-calorie meal thing, but I'm excited to continue trying the Slim Fast Advanced Nutrition plan. So far, I love it!

My New Addiction

I recently discovered The Dating Divas. I don't remember how, but I'm so glad I did! This website has the cutest date ideas, games, and much more to help strengthen and grow closer in your relationship with your SO. All the FREE printables are an added plus!

I found a few end of year reviews that we are going to start doing every year on New Year's Eve. It was so much fun sitting down together and reminiscing over the past year. We also did a New Year's Eve Reflection Game!
I also started the Year of Memories Jar on January 1st. It looked like a super cute idea and I know it will be so much fun reading thru them all on New Year's Eve.
I found this adorable jar at the 99 Cent Store! I figured this would be something I would keep up with, but KC has gotten involved as well. The other day I sent KC to work with cute little love notes for him to open every hour, on the hour. That night, he added this memory to the jar:
My heart melted. He's the absolute best! I can't wait to make more memories like this.

New Year's "Do Betters"

I don't really like making New Year's Resolutions, because I don't ever seem to stick with them and usually give up completely. However, I do think that the new year is a perfect time to start doing better.

Here's a few things KC and I are both going to try to do better at this year:
  • Eat Healthier - more fruits, veggies and home cooked meals
  • Exercise More Often
  • Drink More Water
  • Take More Trips Together
  • Make New Friends - or any friends would be great
  • Enjoy Each & Every Moment

What are your New Year's "Do Betters"??
