Wedding Wednesday: Bridesmaids

Picking my bridesmaids was the hardest decision I've had to make so far. This is mainly because we are only having two each, but after going back and forth for a couple weeks, I finally made the decision to have my two childhood best friends.

There are so many cute ideas on Pinterest involving ways to ask your girls to be your bridesmaids. I really wanted to do one of them, like making a box full of little things they'll need, but there were two factors preventing this. First, I'm not really creative enough to make my gifts look anywhere close to the awesome pictures on Pinterest. Secondly, my bridesmaids are in different states, so I wouldn't be able to do this without it being impersonal. I mean, I could have mailed the packages to them, but not being there when they get it takes all the fun away. So I decided to go a different route.
I just called my girls up (individually, of course) and asked them that way. Once they accepted and gave their excited, "YES!", I made DIY cards and mailed those to them.
Originally, these were said to be used to ask them to be apart of your big day, but again, I didn't like that idea. So instead of having them ask a question, I thanked each of them for saying yes and explained how excited I was to plan with them and have them standing beside me on my big day. The girls LOVED them! My maid of honor said it was nice because she got excited twice; when I first asked and then later when she received the card in the mail.

Tomorrow we go dress shopping!! I'm so excited and cannot wait to find the perfect one!

How'd you ask your girls to be bridesmaids?

Friday Five | Guilty Pleasures

We all have those little things that can cheer us up or make us feel good. No matter how unhealthy or ridiculous they are, we bare no shame when we indulge ourselves in them. Here are five of my guilty pleasures:
1) Potato Chips with French Onion Dip
These are definitely not on the approved diet list, but every once in a while, I just crave them so bad! I almost always eat more than I should too...like half a bag at least.

2) Little Women: LA
I don't really like reality shows because of all the crazy drama and they always get way out of hand. However, sometimes I need a little drama in my life that has nothing to do with me. I've found that I really enjoy Little Women and watching their petty arguments. I've also been known to yell at each of them as I watch...or so KC says LOL
3) Chocolate Covered Raisins
Give me a box of chocolate covered raisins and they'll be gone within minutes. Not only are they covered in delicious milk chocolate, but I can lie to myself and say they're healthy since there's a tiny, little raisin in the middle, right? I blame my love for these on my dad; we always ate them together with I was growing up.

4) Reading Cosmo Magazine
You can learn some very interesting things reading Cosmo every month. I also get some great fitness and fashion tips/ideas from this magazine. KC even enjoys most of the tricks and tips I get out of here... My favorite section though are the confessions; some are so funny!

5) Taco Bell
This is my second love. Taco Bell is the best, especially when it's late at night. KC knows to make me happy, bring home some Taco Bell. And it doesn't matter what because it's all good! After a night out with a few drinks, Taco Bell is our last stop of the night before heading home.

What are some of your guilty pleasures??

Elephants, Tigers, & Camels, Oh My!

This past weekend we went to the Ringling Bros. Circus Xtreme. It was amazing and so much fun! The elephants and tigers were my favorites. They had seventeen tigers in the cage with only one trainer... I'd be so terrified! KC was convinced something was going to go wrong, so he filmed the entire act. LOL
The best part was the elephants. All weekend, animal activists stood outside the stadium protesting the circus using elephants as entertainment, etc. Throughout the elephant performance and tricks, the trainer explained how they train them and shared facts about elephants that most people probably don't know. They even explained what they use the "training stick" for. It was perfect. I really wished those activists would have been in there for that; it would have been very educational for them. However, I'm not saying animals should be taken from the wild and made to entertain us, but I don't think the ones in the circus are mistreated in any way. You could see the love and bond between the animals and the trainers.
There were so many entertaining and awesome acts. Here's a couple pictures of some other things we saw:
Here's to hoping for a great week! Only 5 days until my trip!

Wedding Wednesday: It's Getting Real

I'm headed to Indiana in 10 days! I can't wait to get there and dive into wedding planning with my Maid of Honor. I get to check out our "venue" (aka my parents' barn) and figure out how I want everything to be set up. Once I get the layout down, I'll be able to really start planning decorations and such! I'm so excited!!

This week, I also scheduled my dress fitting at David's Bridal (in Indiana) and cannot wait to find "The One"! My mom, sister, and MOH will be there for me, helping me pick the perfect dress. It's really starting to feel real, now that I'm getting some things planned/done.
I've also been working on centerpieces, but I'll fill you in on those once I get them complete!

I hope you all have a fabulous Hump Day!

What A Week...

Have you ever had one of those weeks where you feel overwhelmed and stressed the entire week and Friday feels FOREVER away?? Well, that was my week. Work has been overly stressful as we are getting lots of new clients all at one time. It's great, but extremely overwhelming. I'm so glad the weekend is finally here, but before I get the weekend started; I needed some inspiration. Here are some that I love!

ONE.
TWO.
THREE.
FOUR.
FIVE.

I hope you all had a better week than I did and enjoy the weekend (I know I will)!
