Last Thursday was our 2 month engagement-versary and the day I went to find "the dress". My mom, best friend/MOH, and two oldest nieces joined me. We left early in the morning, picked everyone up and headed to David's Bridal. I was a little excited, but more nervous than anything because I didn't know what to expect. Turns out, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
When I first walked in and started looking at the racks of dresses, I was completely overwhelmed. They all looked the exact same and I couldn't find any I liked. Thankfully, my stylist was amazing. She was super nice and great with knowing what I was looking for and what would look best on me. I just let her go get dresses for me (less stressful that way!). Seeing myself in a wedding dress was so surreal. I guess I still haven't completely wrapped my mind around the fact that I'm getting married! I tried on about eight dresses and the one I finally decided on was the sixth dress I put on. I can't show you the one I got yet, because KC occasionally looks at my blog. However, here are a few I tried on:
Getting to ring the bell and make my wish was a lot of fun, but I wish my sister could have came with us. I'm not going to lie though, I'm glad this part is over and I can check it off the list! After placing my order, we went to Applebee's to celebrate!
Alterations will be in November. So now I have to decide if I want to keep the zipper back that comes on it, or add the corset back like the picture below. Decisions, decisions. Does anyone have any advice here??
xoxo

So exciting to have such a big thing checked off your list!! I love all of the dresses you tried on :)
ReplyDeleteWas this your first time trying on dresses? And you were able to actually make a choice?! If so, I'm AMAZED! Haha I must've went to 9 different places, and some places twice. It really is a huge relief having this checked off though.. I vote corset back =)
ReplyDeleteThis was my first time trying on dresses and I definitely feel like I got lucky finding one so fast. As soon as I put it on, I knew it was the one I wanted. I didn't even want to try anymore on!
DeleteYay!! I bought my dress from Davids as well and it had a zipper. I had a corset added and could not have been happier. I LOVED it with the corset and I highly recommend it. I also recommend finding a private seamstress or another shop to do the alterations. Davids is very expensive and I was able to have a corset added, and some other alterations for half of the price that Davids quoted.
